BLUES IN HELL

Type of festival:
Blues festival with location in the unique area at Hell Railway Station with 2 venues. The main stage is the spectacular Magic Mirror tent (capacity 800) witch travel all the way from Belgium every year. There’s also an acoustic stage (450 seated/ tent) that has grown to be a very popular venue in short time. The total capacity at the festival area is 1800 each night and the audience pays one ticket to get into the area and can walk in between the two stages and choose between ten to twelve artists each night. Marias kitchen serves delicious food made of local commodities. All tents are heated. Blues in Hell are also highly involved in a great blues in school project, seminars and workshops for students and kids.
The festival has a big Art exhibition every year.

How to get to Blues in Hell and where to stay?
There are several daily international flights to Hell/ Trondheim Airport Værnes from London, Frankfurt, Copenhagen, Amsterdam and Stockholm. The airport is situated approximately TWO (2) minutes from Hell. There’s also train connection from Sweden and south/ north Norway. There are three well renowned hotels operating in Hell and Stjørdal, and the majority has very good standards. You can also find an affordable accommodation if this is preferred. HELL, actually, Hellir – Cliff Cave. A cave underneath a cliff The village of Hell is situated in Stjørdal Municipality, 30. Km. North east of
Trondheim, the fourth largest City in Norway.
Stone Age rock carvings prove that Hell was populated approx. 5000 years ago. The population in Hell is approx. 3000.
Today, the Hell area is a busy traffic junction. Trondheim Airport, Værnes, the main airport in central Norway (Trøndelag), is situated less than 1 km from Hell.
The county road 705 from Røros is connected to the E6 highway at Hell, and the junction E14 / E6 is nearby. Hell is also the railway junction for the Nordland line to Northern Norway and the Mera?ker line which is connected to the Swedish rail network.
The Hell area has several businesses; 5 star hotels like Rica Hell Hotel and Radisson Blu Hotel Trondheim Airport, grocery shop, Hell Grill, post service, petrol stations, Hell Shopping Centre, stone quarry (rock in Hell), lumber and concrete industry etc.
The most famous feature is Hell railway station and, of course, the sign (in Norwegian) stating "Gods Expedition". Although the station now is closed, most trains stop here (on signal). Hell Station are the location for Blues In Hell festival.
One of Norway’s best salmon and sea trout rivers, the Stjørdal River, has its delta at Hell. Access to the river is easy (June – August). A fishing license can be bought at sport shops and Stjørdal Tourist Information Office.
Hell is especially well known cause of Mona Grudt (Miss Universe 1990) and Hell Blues Festival which was established in 1992. From 2008 “Blues in Hell”;
